What Concerns Me The Most...
(per Dr. David)
The other week, I was interviewed by Joshua Langlais from A Community Thread. Check out his project. It's an amazing movement!
Joshua asked me, "What concerns you the most about the world today?" I thought about it.
Tears welled up in my eyes.
What concerns me the most about our world today is that 1 in 45 children are diagnosed with autism
1 in 45.
What is our world going to look like in 20, 30 or 40 years from now? It does not just concern me, it scares me.
Autism is a deep disconnection within the brain.
The even scarier part, brain disconnection happens even more frequently on a more subtle level whether it be through lack of eye contact as a newborn, not hitting developmental milestones as a baby, being a clumsy child, the inability to focus in school, or anxiety in a teenager.
Why is this happening? What could be the cause?
It's plain and simple. Our world is more stressful and toxic than ever before in the history of humankind.
However, the human race is advancing.
People living to 100 years of age is the fast growing population. Athletes are running faster miles. Humans are innovating the world through technology.
Children are proving to be smarter than we ever thought possible.
At one end of the spectrum, 1 in 45 children have autism. On the other end, humankind is reaching higher potential.
How do we close the gap?
